Whats New – eSpirALS and eSignUp

Based on user feedback, we’ve been working on a new version of eSpirALS to include some timesaving features. This will be released in March when final testing has been completed.

We have added additional tabs to the Learner Browser “Tasks” button meaning that you can now create bulk Notes, Actions, Funding Criteria values and Waypoints. This means that rather than just creating one item, you can create the same one for multiple learners at the same time, using either pre-existing filters and groups, or searching by learner name.

We have also created “Template Types” meaning that you can add a package of Misc Support items to a group of learners in one go. This will make it quicker and easier for you to provide estimates of support costs for the local authorities funding your high needs learners. For more information about how to use Template Types, please watch the Release webinar here:

We have brought the ILR import into the main eSpirALS DataLink and added some additional fields, including an overall attendance figure and Funding Criteria. This makes life easier for your MIS teams sending data to eSpirALS.

Coming soon:  Ratio Rates on Misc Support items allowing you to create estimate cost records where you don’t yet know who the learners will be in the group.

Over the past few months we have made a number of changes and improvements to ensure eSignUp continues to meet compliance requirements and ease your workflow.

We introduced the Skill Scan balance calculator to simplify the task of calculating the split on off-the-job hours between employer, provider and self-guided, for Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours. Not only is it now much faster to set up your programmes, the chance of errors creeping in has been reduced significantly.

The Candidate application form has seen changes too! To ensure the information captured from your candidates remains compliant and of value, questions around nationality and residency were updated as part of the dynamic form.

The Employer Incentives form has produced some frustrations with employer who have completed the form incorrectly, and are required to complete this a second or third time. This form is now dynamic and pre-populated, taking the guess work out of the process. Employers will no longer be asked compliance questions that do not relate to their specific requirement or circumstances.

We have brought in BKSB, Century and LRS integrations, making it easier and smoother to locate and import candidates initial assessments and prior achievements. There’s no longer a need to visit multiple platforms and manually input this data!

Improvements have been made to the Direct Recruit process. This is now smoother and more simple to follow. Where an apprentice was originally on a Direct Recruit, you can now unlock them yourselves if they need to be placed on a new Vacancy, such as when part of a Change in Circumstance.

Coming soon:  Changes to the Functional Skills process, allowing a smoother and auditable process to capture the new opt-in/opt-out requirements for apprentices 19+.

We are also adapting the Recruitment screen to allow last-minute editing of some key details relevant to an individual signup, such as the negotiated Wage, training Location, Sub-contractor and delivery model.
