Career history:
I began my career working for ten years as a travel agent. During this time I had an 8 month ‘staycation’ in Tenerife where I encountered many interesting people and lots of stories…which will keep for another time 😉.
Following this, I worked in recruitment for a further 10 years, which led me into the FE and training sector. I have worked in this field for the last 15 years, engaging with employers across England and supporting young people and adults to gain qualifications via apprenticeships. I find it incredibly rewarding to see people grow and achieve skills for life. I am passionate about learning and supporting businesses to thrive by supporting them with solutions.
Interests:
I love travelling and expect that this will be a lifelong passion! I like to go to somewhere different every year and sometimes twice a year if I can! This year I visited Singapore, stopping off on the way in Dubai. Here, as an 18th birthday treat for my son, we both experienced the longest urban zip wire in the world, which was quite something!
Favourite animal:
I love all animals, but I am a serious dog lover. I am the proud owner of two beautiful fur babies – a chihuahua named Marley and a terrier mix called Pearl 💞.
Someone I would like to meet:
I’m a big music lover, enjoying a variety of genres. My big regret is not seeing Prince and David Bowie when they were alive – they would definitely have been top of my list.
Books/Films:
I love an autobiography! I recently read ‘Scar Tissue’ by Anthony Kiedis and am currently reading ‘Milf’ by Paloma Faith.
When it comes to TV/Film, I enjoy fictional crime thrillers, true crime, Sci Fi , Scandinavian crime thrillers and fantasy. I am currently enjoying Slow Horses, and if I had to pick a favourite director, it would have to be Quentin Tarantino!
