We recently happily welcomed Henry, a student at Eltham College, as a temporary member of the team!
Henry spent a week with us on work experience, gaining valuable insight into how our organisation operates on a day-to-day basis. During his time here, he worked alongside several teams, observing how projects are managed and learning about the systems and technologies we use to support our clients.
A key part of Henry’s week was his involvement with eTrackr, where he contributed to the introduction of a new feature. Working with the team, he focused on enhancements to the bespoke marking scheme functionality, including adding colour coding to grades and exploring how these visual indicators could be used across the system. He also investigated related areas such as how flags and key indicators are displayed to users. This gave him valuable hands-on experience of working with a live codebase and understanding how new features are developed, tested, and refined.
Henry also spent time working with our Lead Data Analyst, Jake on eHub, where he was introduced to the platform and learned how it supports data analysis. As part of this, he created an example Excel report connected to the eHub data source, developing a set of metrics to demonstrate how information can be extracted and presented for end users. This work helped him understand how data flows through the system and how it can be used to generate meaningful insights.
In addition, Henry supported basic data checks and attended team meetings, seeing first-hand how ideas are shared and solutions developed collaboratively. Reflecting on his experience, Henry said, “I’ve really enjoyed seeing how everything works behind the scenes, especially working on eTrackr and eHub. It’s given me a much better idea of what I might want to do in the future.”
Thank you Henry, we wish you every success in your future career!
