Within ePortal you may see various different target grades that have been set, depending on the type of course and the policy of the college.
UTG: Unit Target Grade. This is most commonly used with BTEC courses, where a target may be set for each unit. P stands for Pass, M stands for Merit and D stands for Distinction.
ITG: This stands for the Initial Target Grade and is calculated from the data gathered by the prior qualifications. The calculated Average Point Score in the Prior Qualifications grid informs the Initial Target Grade.
ATG: This is the Aspirational Target Grade, which is often manually set by the student’s course teacher. This can be used to provide Stretch and Challenge to encourage the student to exceed initial expectations.
